Answering the Shia argument that: “We are better than Sahaba(as)”

Bismillah hirahman nir raheem.

In this article, Inshallah Once more, we will be proving before our readers that, Shiatu dajjal have again proved, that their brains are damaged due to hatred of Sahaba(as). They claimed out of their ignorance that “WE(later people who didn’t see Prophet Muhammad(Saw) ARE BETTER THAN SAHABA”, But before making this ignoramus claim, they forgot to realize that due to this ignorance they have degraded the Status of Ali(as), Fatima(as), Hassan(as) and Hussain(as) and insulted them, because even they were from the people who saw and believed in Prophet(saw) , they weren’t from those people who didn’t see the Prophet(Saw) and believed in him.

Argument

ShiaWebsite[Wilayat.net] Stated:

[Quote]At this point, let us bring some more explicit authentic Sunni Hadiths proving that we are better than the Sahabah! Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal records in his Musnad, vol. 4, p. 106, Hadith Number 17017 (ed. Shaykh al-Arnaut):
Narrated Abu Jumu`ah:Once we had lunch with the Messenger of Allah . Abu `Ubaydah, who was with us, said, “O Messenger of Allah! ARE THERE PEOPLE BETTER THAN US? We embraced Islam with you and performed Jihad with you.” He said, “YES, THOSE WHO WILL COME AFTER YOU, WHO WILL BELIEVE IN ME ALTHOUGH THEY DID NOT SEE ME.”Shaykh al-Arnaut says: Sahih Hadith.

This Hadith is clear enough! The righteous believers in this Ummah are far BETTER than the Sahabah whom al-Hindi al-Nasibi worships!

Al-Hafiz Ibn Kathir further states:This Hadith has another route collected by Abu Bakr bin Marduwyah in his Tafsir, from Salih bin Jubayr who said: `Abu Jumu`ah Al-Ansari, the Companion of the Messenger of Allah , came to Bayt Al-Maqdis (Jerusalem) to perform the prayer. Raja’ bin Haywah was with us, so when Abu Jumu`ah finished, we went out to greet him. When he was about to leave, he said, “You have a gift and a right. I will narrate a Hadith for you that I heard from the Messenger of Allah. ” We said, “Do so, and may Allah grant you mercy.” He said, “We were with the Messenger of Allah, ten people including Mu`adh bin Jabal. We said, “O Messenger of Allah! ARE THERE PEOPLE WHO WILL ACQUIRE GREATER REWARDS THAN US? We believed in Allah and followed you.’ He said,

(What prevents you from doing so, while the Messenger of Allah is among you, bringing you the revelation from heaven There are people who will come after you and who will be given a book between two covers (the Qur’an), and they will believe in it and implement its commands. THEY HAVE A GREATER REWARD THAN YOU, EVEN TWICE AS MUCH.)”

In other words, when we do good deeds, we are given DOUBLE the rewards that the Sahabah received for the SAME deeds!!

Shaykh al-Albani in his Silsilah al-Ahadith as-Sahihah, vol. 1, p. 892, Number 494 also records that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said to his Sahabah:

إن من ورائكم أيام الصبر للمتمسك فيهن يومئذ بما أنتم عليه أجر خمسين منكم . قالوا : يا نبي الله ! أو منهم ؟ قال : بل منكم
“After you will come days of patience (i.e. hardship). Whosoever then stays upon what you currently are upon, he will have the reward of FIFTY of you!” They said: “O Prophet of Allah! Rather, fifty of them?” He said: “No. Fifty of YOU.” Shaykh al-Albani says: Sahih.[End Quote]

ANSWER:

The ahadeeth presented by Shias upon which they made their silly claims, need academic knowledge for understanding them. Since the Shiatu dajjal who made those claims were non-academic ignorant then the outcome was obvious. Thus for the better and a clear understanding of this issue, we would like to present before our readers that,  What the scholars have understood these reports to mean, According to the Scholars these ahadeeth mean that Prophet(saw) said, those people who didn’t see the Prophet(Saw), Yet believed in him, “they are better than Sahaba(as) in FAITH/BELIEVE” or rather “they receive more reward(ajr) for their faith,” because having faith/believing in Prophet(saw) was easy for Sahaba(as) compared to the people who never saw or met the Prophet(saw). However, there is no doubt that the Sahaba(companions of Prophet) receive more rewards for their deeds/actions, like their jihad and Charity etc, which they did to help and support Islam and Prophet(saw). For example, The Prophet said, “..If any one of you spent gold equal to Uhud (in Allah’s Cause) it would not be equal to a Mud or even a half Mud spent by one of them.”(Sahi bukhari 5.22)

So there is no doubt that Sahaba(as) were the best of people from the Ummah of Prophet Muhammad(Saw) in regards to DEEDS/ACTIONS, this is most clear from the following verse of Quran and from authentic narrations.

Regarding Sahaba(as), Allah(swt) said in Quran:

Not equal among you are those who spent (freely) and fought, before the Victory, (with those who did so later). Those are HIGHER IN RANK than those who spent (freely) and fought AFTERWARDS. But to all has Allah promised a goodly (reward). And Allah is well acquainted with all that ye do. (QURAN 57:10).

Regarding Sahaba(as), Prophet(Saw) Said:

Narrated Abdullah: The Prophet (may peace be upon him) said: ”The best people are those living in my generation, and then those who will follow them, and then those who will follow the latter. Then there will come some people who will bear witness before taking oaths, and take oaths before bearing witness.” (Sahih Bukhari Volume 5, Book 57, Number 3)

Narrated `Imran bin Husain: “Allah’s Apostle said, ‘The best of my followers are those living in my generation and then those who will follow the latter” Imran added, “I do not remember whether he mentioned two or three generations after his generation, then the Prophet added, ‘There will come after you, people who will bear witness without being asked to do so, and will be treacherous and untrustworthy, and they will vow and never fulfill their vows, and fatness will appear among them.” (Sahi bukhari 5.2)

Similar report is even mention in shia ahadees:

From Musa bin Jafar from his fathers who said: The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: There will be 4 generations, the best of generations is the one in which I am living, then the second, then the third [Shia book, Biharul Anwar Volume:22 Page:309]

Thus the difference between the reports which says that people who didn’t see Prophet(Saw) but believed in him are better than Sahaba and the reports which state that Sahaba were the best of people is that, “Those who didn’t see Prophet(saw), yet believed in him are better than Sahaba(as) ONLY IN REGARDS TO FAITH/BELIEVE”, “But SAHABA(as) are the best in the Muslim Ummah in regards to DEEDS/ACTIONS”. (OR) “Those who didn’t see Prophet(saw), yet believed in him get more reward for FAITH/BELIEVE”, “But SAHABA(as) got more reward(ajr) for their ACTIONS/DEEDS”.

One doesn’t needs to know rocket science to understand this simple issue, because people with sense can realize that how could anyone who didn’t see prophet(Saw) and yet believed in him be superior to Abubakr(as) , Umar(as), Uthman(as), Ali(as) or Fatima(as), and rest of Sahaba(as), since they righteous, as well as they helped and supported Prophet(Saw) in the best way.

Conclusion

Thus after referring to verse of Quran and Prophetic ahadeeth from Sunni books and Shia books regarding Sahaba(as) being the best people, the conclusion is that, Sahaba(as) are the best people from the Muslim Ummah in regards to DEEDS/ACTIONS and they are better than those people who came later, in regards to deeds. And the people who didn’t see Prophet(Saw) and yet believed in him are better than Sahaba, ONLY IN REGARDS TO FAITH/BELIEVE.

If the foolish Shias don’t want to agree with the scholarly explanation, then they are free to hold their stupid view, which is an insult to Ali(as), Fatima(as), Hassan(as) and Hussain(as) because even they were from the people who saw prophet(saw) and as per the hadeeth which Shias tried to misinterpret, the ones who didn’t saw Prophet(Saw) are better than those who saw Prophet(Saw).

O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allah and be just witnesses and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety, and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is Well-Acquainted with what you do} [Al-Maeda 5:8]

May Allah guide the Shias who are unbiased, who really seek to know the truth.

  1. Salamun ‘alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh Akhi wa Ramadhan Mabrook ‘alaik, may Allah reward you for another nail in the coffin of the Rafidah.

    Shaykh Al-Albani (RH) said:

“That which the People of Hadith are upon is to mention the facts whether they are in their favour or against them, as opposed to the people of desires, as Ibn Taymiyyah has mentioned many times in his refutations of them.”

    Ad-Da’eefah, Vol. 12/p. 551.

The Rafidah like all deviant cults first belief (in all sorts of made up nonsense) THEN look for evidences. Like their ridiculous Imamah belief, where they have to go for fishing in the ocean of the Qur’an to find a few Ayat to DISTORT them and force their biased Aqeedah on them. The articles above beautifully exposes the reality of the Rafidah (and the ‘wilayat’) website, they simply did NOT take into consideration (or most likely INTENTIONALLY DID NOT MENTION) the other QUR’ANIC (!!!) verses and Ahadith which declare the superiority of the Sahaba (especially the Muhajir and Ansar ones) over not just me and you dear reader, but ALL the Imams the Rafidah ascribe to themselves (except Ali Ibn Abi Talib who himself is from the early Muhajirs). This is a common deception of the Rafidites and should be a warning to you whenever they come out with their lame phrase ‘we bring Sunni sources only to refute Sunnism’.

Also ponder over what Shaykh Al-Islam said:

Shaykh Al Islam Ibn Taimiyyah beautifully said:

هكذا أهل البدع لا يكادون يحتجون بحجة سمعية، ولا عقلية، إلا وهي عند التأمل حجة عليهم، لا لهم‏.
الكتب » مجموع فتاوى ابن تيمية » العقيدة » كتاب الأسماء والصفات الجزء الثاني

[…] and this is how the people of innovation are. They barely bring forward a textual proof nor rational one, except, after pondering over it, it (their ‘evidence’) being against them and not for them.

(Majmoo’ Al-Fatawah of Shaykh Al-Islam Ibn Taimiyyah, Aqeedah, the Book of the Names and Attributes part two)

  2. Who has written the book” quran”?In seventh century in deserted arab -world knowledge by books was rare&eastern looted MAAL AND GANIMAT were main source to live with impression in arab&eastern developments in knowledge, art, culture, prosperity were subjects of jealousness.Actualy quran was written by someone forcely by swords and writer was slayed latter.IT is mis belief that quran was written or bring by any one?

    • @Ashwinisingh.

You seem you be affected with anti-Islamic propaganda, Quran is the book which was revealed by GOD Almighty, its the best book which teaches that how human being should lead their life. It is even proven scientifically that the content of Quran can’t be from any human being, it has to be from a divine source. If you are really interested in seeking the truth, then please watch this lecture:

  3. Hudhayfah reported that the Prophet (S) said, “Al-Mahdi will turn his face to Jesus when he descends as if water were dropping from his hair, and will say to him, ‘Go ahead and say the prayer.’ Jesus will say, ‘The prayer has been set up only for you.’ So, Jesus will pray behind a man who is among my sons.”(Sirat al-Mustaqim, 2, 257)

  4. In order to understand this issue we must note that there are two types of reward, the reward for knowledge and the reward for accompanying the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Some later members of the ummah may do deeds that are greater in reward than similar actions on the part of some of the Sahaabah because they will have no one to support and help them, and because they will be subject to a great deal of temptation, but they will not have the reward of having accompanied the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and met him.

    Al-Haafiz Ibn Hajar said:

The hadeeth “The righteous among them will have the reward of fifty of you” does not mean that people other than the Sahaabah are superior to the Sahaabah, because simply having more reward does not prove that one is superior.

Moreover, the difference in reward is with regard to the same type of deed. But the superiority attained by one who saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) cannot be matched by anyone.

This is how we may interpret the ahaadeeth quoted above.

    Fath al-Baari, 7/7

Shaykh al-Islam (Ibn Taymiyah – may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

They – meaning the later members of the ummah – may have good deeds equivalent to those of fifty men among the Sahaabah, of the deeds that they did at that time. That is because the Sahaabah had help and support in that, whereas those who come later may not have help and support. But the fact that the reward will be multiplied for them in cases where it is not multiplied for the Sahaabah does not mean that they are better than the Sahaabah or that their virtue is any greater than that of the Sahaabah. What the Sahaabah achieved in terms of faith, jihad and fighting the people of this earth by supporting the Messenger, believing what he said and obeying his teachings before his call spread, his word prevailed, the number of his supporters increased and the proof of his Prophethood became widely known, indeed when the believers were so few in number and the disbelievers and hypocrites were so many, and the believers spent their wealth for the sake of Allaah, seeking His pleasure in that situation, is something that no one can achieve the like of any more. As it says in al-Saheehayn, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Do not curse the Sahaabah, for by the One in Whose hand is my soul, if any one of you spent the equivalent of Mount Uhud in gold, he would not attain the level of any one of them, or even come half way.”

    Majmoo’ al-Fataawa, 13/65, 66

Moreover, there is no virtuous deed that those who come later can do, but those who came before did something similar in a more perfect fashion.

With regard to the words “They will have the reward of fifty of you because you have supporters who help you to do good and they will not have any supporters who will help them to do good,” this is correct in a case where a deed done by a single person among those who come later are like the deed done by a group of people among those who came before, so he will have the reward of fifty. But you should not imagine that one of those who come later will do deeds like those of some of the major Sahaabah such as Abu Bakr and ‘Umar, for there will never again be a Prophet like Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) with whom people may do deeds like those that were done with Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

With regard to the words, “My ummah is like the rain, I do not know whether the first of it is better or the last of it,” although this hadeeth is not very sound, what it means is that among those who come later there will be those who are similar to those who came before, and they will be so close that the one who tries to compare them will not know which is better, even though one of them is in fact better.

This is glad tidings for those who come later, that among them will be those who are close to those who came before them, as it says in another hadeeth: “The best of my ummah are the first and the last, and between them there will be some crookedness. Would that I could see my brethren.” They said, “Are we not your brethren?” He said, “You are my companions.” This shows that precedence was given to the Sahaabah, because they alone are his companions, which is a higher status than merely being brothers.”

    Majmoo’ al-Fataawa, 11/370, 371

It is worth pointing out that there is no basis for the phrase used in the question, “the best of generations is my generation”, although it is often used in the books of Ahl al-Sunnah. Moreover, there is a mistake with regard to its meaning. If this is what he said, then he would have said after it, “then the one that follows it.” But the wording of the hadeeth is “then those who follow them.” The wording of the saheeh hadeeth is: “The best of mankind is my generation” and “The best of my ummah is my generation.”

    And Allaah knows best.
