Origin of the word “Shia of Dajjal” and Who are “Shia of Dajjal”?

In this article we will present before the readers the origin of the word Shia of Dajjal/Shiatu dajjal, which means supporters or followers of Dajjal.  And what are their signs from which we can identify them.

Origin of the word “Shia of Dajjal”

ينزل الدجال في هذه السبخة بمرقناة فيكون أكثر من يخرج إليه النساء حتى إن الرجل ليرجع إلى حميمه وإلى أمه وإلى ابنته وأخته وعمته فيوثقها رباطا مخافة أن تخرج إليه ثم يسلط الله المسلمين عليه فيقتلونه ويقتلون شيعته حتى إن اليهودي ليختبئ تحت الشجرة أو الحجر فيقول الحجر أو الشجرة للمسلم هذا يهودي تحتي فاقتله

خلاصة حكم المحدث: إسناده صحيح

The Prophet (saw) said that the Dajjaal will descend in Marqand …….then Allah will grant the Muslims victory on him who will kill him and his SHIA in so much that when the Jew hides behind a tree or a stone, then the tree and the stone will say to the Muslim that there is a Jew behind me come and kill him. (Musnad Ahmed bin Hanbal, vol 7, page 190, Ahmed Shakir said chain is Saheeh)

Comment: So we find that Prophet(Saw) used the word “Shia” for the followers of Dajjal and this is the origin of the word “Shia of Dajjal”.

 

Who are going to be the Shia(followers) of Dajjal ?

This hadith is recorded by the great Hadith master, Ibn Asakir, who mentions it with his sanad.
عن حذيفة قال أول الفتن قتل عثمان بن عفان وآخر الفتن خروج الدجال والذي نفسي بيده لا يموت رجل وفي قلبه مثقال حبة من حب قتل عثمان إلا تبع الدجال إن أدركه وإن لم يدركه آمن به في قبره
Hudhaifah(ra) states: The first fitna is the killing of Uthman(ra) while the final fitna would be the emergence of Dajjal. By Allah, in whose control my life is, a person in whose heart there is a grain of love for the killing of Uthman(ra) such a person would not die without following Dajjal, if Dajjal emerges in his (that person’s) lifetime, otherwise, that person would bring Iman on Dajjal in his grave”.

Faswi in al-Maarifat wa al-Tareekh mentioned a similar report above:
حدثنا ابن نمير حدثنا محمد بن الصلت حدثنا منصور بن أبي الأسود عن الأعمش عن زيد بن وهب عن حذيفة قال: من كان يحب وخرج الدجال تبعه، فأن مات قبل أن يخرج آمن به في قبره.
Hudhaifah(ra) said: Those Who would love(killing of uthman) and when Dajjal would come out, they would follow him. If they had died before his appearance, they will have faith in him(dajjal) in their graves.[al Maarifat wa al Tareekh, 1/364. online link]

Comment: So we find that, this “hadith” refers to the Shias of dajjal and according to this hadeeth Dajjal will be followed by those people who LOVED the killing of Uthman(ra) or those who were HAPPY with the killing of Uthman(ra).

 

Lying is from the characteristics of “Shiatu Dajjal”

The Prophet said: There will be “dajjals” and liars among my Ummah. They will tell you something new, which neither you nor your forefathers have heard. Be on your guard against them, and do not let them lead you astray. (Musnad Ahmad.)
